UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES (BS-FYDP):

Government Graduate College, Pasrur (Sialkot) was offering two years conventional degree programmes i.e B.A. But in the year 2021, Govt. of the Punjab took a revolutionary step to cope with modern needs and initiated BS four years degree programmes in our GGCP. The college got affiliation with University of the Punjab, one of the oldest and the most prestigious universities of Pakistan. The curricula of BS-FYDP is in synch with the approved curricula of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC). All the undergraduate degree programmes are compatible with international standards because the college is well aware of the mushrooming demands of studies. These offerings were coupled with student-based tutorials, projects and other initiatives under the aegis of credible faculty and insightful mentors.       

The GGCP launched undergraduate programmes in 2021. The following BS programmes in different disciplines have been kicked off:

  2. BS URDU (Morning/Evening)
  3.  BS Political Science (Morning)
  4. BS Physics (Morning)
  5. BS Mathematics (Morning/Evening)
  6. BS Zoology (Morning/Evening)
  7. BS computer Sciences            (Morning/Evening)
  8. BS Mass Communication (Morning)
  9. BS Information Technology (Morning)

Eligibility rules for BS programmes:

The candidates holding F.A/F.Sc or equivalent qualification with at least 2nd division (For BS IT and BS CS 50% are required) and not more than 23 years of age shall be eligible for admission to BA/BS or equivalent programs in University of the Punjab/Affiliated Colleges.

The candidate holding 3rd division in terminal degree is not eligible for admission in BA/BS or equivalent program in University of the Punjab/Affiliated Colleges. Two marks shall be deducted from (percent academic) marks for each late session to a maximum of previous 5 sessions/years. Such applicant have to furnish an affidavit to the effect that he/she did not get admission in any Institution in the period intervening between the year of passing the Examination.

Admission Policy for BS degree programmes:

Admission to GGCP for male and female candidates is offered according to policy of Govt. of the Punjab and University of the Punjab. The college also reserves the right to devise its own policy of admission approved by college council. A student is admitted on the basis of his/her academic record and personal qualities. The GGCP also reserves the right to make the admission criteria more stringent by introducing tests or interviews or both.

Admission forms for BS programmes:

The admission form may be obtained from the office of college. The form after being duly filled along with all the prescribed documents should be submitted to the admission office on or before the last date. No admission form shall be accepted after the expiry of last date for submission of forms.

Display of merit list:

After the due date of submission of forms, BS Coordination office shall display merit lists, prepared by the concerned department, on the notice board and on the college website. There are limited number of seats which are offered by each department and is divided among male and female candidates on the basis of merit. The candidate who comes up to merit shall have to contact the concerned department for further procedure.   

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES.      

  • The duration of BS programme shall be eight semesters. The subject of the study for various degree programmes are splintered in Spring and Autumn Semesters. Each semester comprises of 18 weeks as per criteria laid down by HEC.
  • The minimum requirements for a degree programmes shall be 120-130 credit hours.
  • Admission shall take place in the Fall Semester and only once in a calendar year.
  • If a candidate fails to maintain his/her attendance his/her name shall be dropped from the college roll.
  • List of selected candidates is prepared by the concerned department, and if needed subsequent merit list shall be prepared by the concerned department.
  • The competent authority may refuse or turn down the admission without assigning any reason.
